What is your relationship like with your body?
If I asked you to use 5 words to describe it what would you say?
Are there any positive words in there?
Women have been conditioned since we are young that our worth comes from how we look. We've learnt that it's far more important for us to look good in a pair of jeans than if we are strong, intelligent or funny. We have come so far in the women's liberation movement but I believe the last frontier is smashing society's (and our own) constant disapproval of our bodies.

Do you stress about what you are going to wear?
Have you worn long pants in 30 degree weather because you don’t like your legs?
Would you love to wear a tank top but feel self conscious about your arms?
Have you covered up at the pool, not to be sun smart, but because you didn’t want anyone to see your belly/thighs/legs/arms?
What if instead, when you went shopping for a new swimsuit the only criteria that mattered were sun safety ratings, comfort and practicality?
What if the only questions you asked yourself were ones like "Is this top going to stay on if I go for a surf?" and "Am I going to be comfy in these bottoms?"

Live your best life by appreciating each and every part of you as it is right now. This is the only body you are going to get in this lifetime, so how about you start treating her like the perfect Goddess vessel that she is?
Imagine what you could use your brain power for if you no longer devoted vast slabs of time to being concerned with how you look. Stopped being terrified of ageing, gaining or losing weight, stretch marks, pimples, removing or keeping your body hair?

I’ve been there and done that
I have been a woman with a fat body for most of my life. And so, I have also been at war with my body for most of my life.
Every magazine, TV show and ad made it clear that only a particular kind of body shape and size (that is constantly changing!) is acceptable. How dare I even think of being at peace with my body when it was obviously so very, very different and therefore completely wrong?
This thinking was exhausting. By the time I was 35, (I’m almost 45 now) I knew I couldn’t go on the way I was; the self-hate was consuming and I was over it.
I started to look for a different way to think about my body. I read books, watched docos, followed new body positive women on social media, soaked up as much info as I could.
Finding the free-dance class of Qoya was the gamechanger for me. Finally I was in my body instead of just in my head with these relentless thoughts! I felt my emotions, I felt my power, I felt my body.
Slowly I started to appreciate this body for what it allows me to do each day rather than regard it as a piece of art that’s value only comes from what it looks like.
I’ve designed this course to share with you the tricks, tools and movement techniques that helped me to change the way I saw myself. It's work that I have done (and continue to do).
My experience is as a fat woman, but I know that women of all sizes and shapes also have this societal conditioning. These exhausting thoughts are in all our heads and that it's time for them to fuck off please!

From the horse's mouth - what it's like to work with me!
Liz created a safe and fun space for an inspiring group of women to gather and bond with each other. We talked, laughed, cried, got angry, stayed happy, and let every emotion have its time, without any judgement. Living as a woman is my given right, being a woman amongst other fantastic women is an honour, growing as a woman with these fantastic women is a gift to be cherished. Thank you Liz and thank you SG's.
Jill Reid, Victoria Australia
Liz’s approach to these sessions combined with embodiment and movement practices (and playful homework inspiration!) is incredibly grounded, nurturing and enormously supportive. Liz creates a safe, relaxed space were I felt comfortable to be myself, to be vulnerable and SPEAK UP without hesitation or fear, SPEAK UP with my voice , voice my feelings without the fear of being shut down or rejected for expressing my truth and what my truth feels like for me. To now knowing the feeling of that in my in my body and to express myself fully and confidently I feel is the spring board I needed to find, to practice and to work with to create positive movement forward in my life.
Thank you dear Liz
Anna, 53, Sydney
Liz has such an open, warm style which made me feel comfortable to bring my whole self to the sessions without any shame. She helped me listen to my inner voice, whilst quieting down and accepting the fear. The practices are so easy and effective. The opportunity to simply accept where I was at, felt truly freeing and the resistance, frustration and tension seemed to melt away and a beautiful wave of self compassion followed. How amazing the body and mind feels after it shifts into this space.
Fiona, 43, Melbourne
